With over 15 years of progressive human resources management experience, Rai Barney-Porter has worked within various industries across the Midwest. These industries include consulting, banking, government, technology, manufacturing, retail, education, healthcare and non-profit. Barney Porter specializes in the areas of recruiting, employee relations, operations, benefits and compensation. Barney-Porter has a Master of Science in Communication from Northwestern University.
In 2005, Barney-Porter started Résumé Respect Services that expanded to Optimal Placement Services in 2013. Optimal Placement Services is a full-service career services firm specializing in recruiting, résumé updates, career coaching, interview preparation, job search assistance, human resources and entrepreneurship consulting.
Optimal Placement Services also offers customized services and has facilitated various career and entrepreneurship workshops for educational institutions, private and non-profit organizations.
Barney-Porter currently works in a Midwest regional leadership role within Human Resources for a national organization.
She has served on the Executive Committee as the Strategic Planning Chairman for the AKArama Foundation, Inc. of the Theta Omega Chapter – Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
